We have had a wonderful start to the school year here at Olivet Preschool! Take a look at some of the fun we’ve been up to!
What a busy fall at Olivet Preschool! Our students have had a blast – visits to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard; cooking fresh food, directly from the local farmers market; tea parties; amazing art and music classes; and so much more! Above all this, the kids have made strong and lasting friendships and grown into wonderful students, eager to explore, play and learn. And for that we are so very thankful! Many Blessings this Thanksgiving!
Summer is upon us! As we finish out our days with camp fun, the teachers are thinking of the possibilities of a new school year! Please contact Our director, Rebecca Martin,rebeccaolivetpreschool@gmail.com, for any questions about our sweet little school! We look forward to hearing from you!
We have had so much fun this month thinking about and preparing for Christmas! Perhaps my favorite thing that we have worked so hard on has been our Transforming Gingerbread house! Rainy day are best kept for making and creating! Our gingerbread house was created over a couple of days where we worked on patterns and cutting. We decorated it with lights and snowflakes. We drew and glued. We created something special!
Each week, our Gingerbread house had a different purpose. The first week, it was the home for the little Gingerbread Boy, and Girl, and Baby. We enjoyed reading and comparing the different Gingerbread stories.
The Second week, we turned our house into a Bake Shop. We make cookies out of playdoh. We graphed and measured cookies. We even cooked our favorite cookies in the kitchen.
Finally we made a workshop for gift wrapping and thinking of others! We had to problem solve how much wrapping paper and ribbon we might need! So much joy comes from just a box!
Our little preschool has so much to be thankful for! We have grown! Boy, have we grown. When I think back to the beginning of our school year to the dinner that we had welcoming our school friends to Olivet, my heart was overwhelmed with joy. As I am catching up on pictures, I came across one from our Thankful program. Each November, we invite families to come in for a small music program. It is our intent to share some of the things that we are learning with our families. This year’s program I could really fee how much we have grown! Thanks to the families that share your children with us! They bless us each day! And a big Thanks to Ms. Betsy!
